    So its about time.....
Well its been ages since I posted. I guess I've been avoiding it. Am due to come back to England on the 29th. It sucks, but have lack of money & no real job prospects here. So home I come. There is so much more I could say on the matter, but to be honest I don't have the energy. There are lots of if's, but's & maybe's.

In other news been having a nice few weeks here in Holland, we've been making the most of if before I go home. Went to see Ocean's 13 last night, which was fun, if a little jam packed (the film not the seats). Will go into Amsterdam on Thursday for shopping (Lush weeeeeeeeeeeeee). There is talk of both kayaking and sauna next weekend. But I think the weekend is likly to be given over to drunken WoW and sleeping.

My poor little Cleo is feeling a little yuck today, belly ache. Poor baby. Gonna miss her when I come home :(

Oh well, lets hope for cheerier posts in the future.

    I bought stamps! WOOT!
Recently recived a birthday card from a American pen pal that I've not written to for a while. So I figured now I have LOTS of free time, it was time to drop her a letter back!

The main cause for wootage over stamps is that I managed to communicate that I needed stamps for America in the post office all on my own! Not much I know, but small steps.

    I mark today a sucess!

    A long weekend in France
    Phew! What a weekend!

The journey we originally thought to be about 6 hours when we booked the trip turned out to be a 9 hour drive instead!! The camping was awsome, cept for the fact that it rained all most constantly and so we spent most of the weekend damp! The little town we stayed in was absolutly beautiful! The juggling/jugglers where brill too. A great time had by all.

I'll do my best to post some pictures up this week on..

Will be very busy this week, washing clothes from the weekend and tidying. Off to England again on Friday to visit home for my birthday. Can't wait to get home and see my friends & family!

    Humph.
Well I was pretty bummed out last week. Went to try and get a job, any job, at the temp agencies. I was assured that I would be lucky to get a cleaning job. They where very nice about it, but said that even the cleaning jobs want people who speak Dutch. They put me on their list & said I might get some last min stuff.

Marco and I had a huge convo about it this weekend. We both agreed that I should stick with the lang learning during the day, for at least a few months. The new lang course starts in August. The Dutch is comming along, its really hard, but I'm starting to know more and more words. So after this weekend I'm all upbeat again & more or less happy!

Also on Monday last week I managed to finnish all my registration things here. I'm now registered and legally able to stay in Holland for as long as I like. Even have a snazzy new stamp in my passport to prove I'm a bit Dutch =p.

This week I will be washing the car (ready for the 8 hour drive to France this weekend), planting some seeds (more kitchen herbs) and brushing up on some basic French. As well as continuing with Dutch and probably hitting level 50 (or so) with Phisto! Ooooooo busy week.

Our sun here disappeared this Monday morning! We had a whole month of lovely sun & today its raining & horrid! We are hoping the sun comes back this weekend so we are not camping in the rain & cold!

    How it went....
Well the beef stew was a roaring sucess! After a small misshap with the electric oven not heating it as quick as it should have done, a quick phone call to my cooking guru Martin in England & transfering said stew to hob! Very good! YAY

The flapjacks however, not so great. Couldn't find a square brownie tin in town, so I had to buy a glass oven tray instead. Turned out to be way too big (2 cm thick flapjacks are just wrong) so I put it in a smaller baking dish. So now we have inch and a half thick flapjacks. They are a bit cakey, flourey & heavy. But hey they are ok for a first try!

Today for my Dutch lessons I'm learning body parts! oooooooooooooo! Marco tried to teach me how to say 'Happy Birthday' for his dad's birthday party last Sunday. But try as I might I couldn't get it...... till I translated it into words I know! Hearty-Leg Grr-Fay-La-Sea-Turd! Hehe, now try saying that straight faced in front of a bunch of Dutch in-laws! What fun.

In other news, I'm checking the post box every day for my 'Sew & So' order. After my horrid failure at the patchwork this month I decided to make a happy return to cross stitch! I've ordered two wonderful Newton Bear x-mas kits. YAY, can't wait, can't wait!

Tonight I will attempt to make beef stew followed by apricot flapjacks!

WISH ME LUCK I'M GOING IN!

In other news, I've been going plant crazy. Its nice to fill this place up with green! Best thing is nothing's died yet! Though the fern in the bathroom is looking a bit sorry for its-self, anyone have any fern wisdom to share?

Been collecting loo rolls to grow seeds in as inspired by [info]onelittlething. Also bought some nice pots to grow some kitchen herbs in yesterday! That will be nice!

    I made it!
    Well I made it!

The trip was long and tiring (more for Marco then me). Cleo was an angel the whole way with only one 'accident'. We left early and managed to catch an early Eurotunnel train (drove right on, no waiting at all!). Hardly any border control, we didn't even have to stop at the borders to Belgium & The Netherlands.

The last few days have been settling in. Cleo has taken very well to her new home and already has found a favourite spot under the sofa. I think it will take me and Marco a while longer to settle in and get into a rhythem. At the moment everything for me is a steep learning curve, not only learning the lang and customs, but learning the kitchen appliances and washing machines! Never was that good with buttons and now all the buttons are Dutch. I'm getting there though with lots of patient help from Marco. :)

Tomorrow I have my interview with Alkmaar town council, after which hopefully I should get my sofi number & bank account. Then comes the task of looking for work! I'm really nervous about that coz my Dutch is awful. I'm making myself go out into town today to buy a few things, just so I can get used to trying to use the lang on my own and the reactions I will get.

    Until next time!

    More Blogage
So! Well! 3 days to go! Hurrah I made it without my HEAD EXPLODING! Most of the big things are out of the way now.

Kitty Passport is all good & has a cute little space to put her picture in! Went to london to get a stupid stamp on my birth certificate. Mum came through her op fine & my trip to the dentist was great!

Now all I have to do is finnish packing and make it though this weekend. Its a 7 hour drive with a little cat, which should be fun. So wish me luck and i hope my next blog will be from The Netherlands!

PS - I've set up a My Space page with photo's and blog. I'm currently just posting the same blog in both places. Linky is http://www.myspace.com/darna_moon if anyone is interested.

Ita amazing how much someones opinion can change once they really think about what they would lose.

I didn't want to lose him. He didn't want to lose me.

Hard work but worth every second.
